Wet Palette

These bad boys make my painting so much easier. This great bit of kit which you can make at home for pennies is a god send to us painters. It keeps your paint wet so it does not dry out, you can mix and keep the paint for a long time, it also makes the paint into a great consistency for painting onto your models. So here is my version of how to make a wet palette.

First take one tub, like you would get from your local takeaway.
Then take about 3 sponges from your kitchen.
Have some grease proof paper cut into the shape of your tub.
Lay the sponges in the tub and then fill with water. Keep putting water in until all the sponges are full but make sure not to go above the sponges with water.
Lay your grease proof paper on top and press down lightly.
That is it and is as simple as that. Remember to put the lid back on the tub when you are not using it and your paints will stay wet for at least a fortnight in my experience.
Happy painting.

Jolly Toys Outing

So I attended my first big tournament called The Jolly Toys Outing. This was held at Warhammer World in Nottingham. This was also the first time I had ever been to Warhammer World which is an experience in itself!
This event was held by the Oxford Gaming Club and I found for my first experiance it was run very well. There was to be five games over two days and there were about 74 of us competing. The composition of the tournament was to be something called a Nova style competition which I found very interesting. This was three objectives set with a primary, secondary and tertiary ranking. Thus allowing no ties and always a clear winner from every game!

My list...
Well this is what I took:

Well what can I say about list....  I will never use terminators and a landraider in this way ever again!!!!! Such a waste of points and useless in this list. But as a learning experience a great one learned.
Overall I came I think 70th, so definitely the bottom end of the table. But it means more or less the only way I can go is up. Haha.
Tell me what you think to my list as well and your thoughts of improving it.
I don't have any battle reports as I did not take any notes at this tournament and my memory is rubbish but I lost all but one of my games, either due to my list not working or a couple of silly mistakes on my part. But as I said before it all adds more experience to my playing profile!

Apologies for my lack of posting!

Well as the title says it all, apologies for my lack of posting. It is always there in the back of my mind and I need to make more time for it.
Recently I have been painting lots and playing warhammer fantasy. This would be with my new Vampire Count army. Pics to follow. But here is one for now of work in progress.

Also at the moment  I am practising for a doubles tournament that I am attending at Warhammer World with Peter from Mid-table obscurity blog.
Going well from tonight's performance I feel. I shall post a progressing list up shortly.
See ya all soon!
